Bruce Leslie - Drums

Bruce Leslie

Bruce started playing drums when he was about six years old, and played steadily through his early college days. He grew up listening to great Jazz drummers like Max Roach, Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich - and even met Buddy Rich in the spring of 1978. Buddy asked him if "he was any good"..."well, I used to think so" was all he could muster up by way of a reply. But, being a child of the 70s, Bruce plays nothing at all like those jazz greats. His playing style was greatly influenced by Steve Smith (Journey), Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd), John Panozzo (Styx) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick).

After a nearly 20 year break, college, career, kids - Bruce sat in with the original band members (then known as Decrepit) after the first drummer ended up leaving the band. "I offered to sit in with them until they could find a ‘real drummer’ - well, they haven’t been looking too hard because they haven’t fired me yet."
